He was nominated by the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners

Daniel, a carpenter, was born in Bradford, England 1860 and immigrated to South Australia in 1881. He was awarded a Hymn Christian Worship book on his final day at Sunday School in England.

Delegate to the Trades and Labour Council for the above

He married Jane Vernon; they had four children.

It is said he worked on the staircase of the Largs Pier Hotel.
